I caution anyone inquiring services from KeyMe. I needed my bedroom door opened. KeyMe connected me with a locksmith that was 45 mins away. When he arrived he spent 30 seconds tinkering with the lock and told me that the inside of the lock was broken. He said the inside of the lock normally has 5 pins and there are only 4...making it “impossible” to open. His next suggestion was to drill a hole through the lock and door, and then replace it with another doorknob. That was going to cost roughly $129. When I refused to pay that price, he asked to go back to tinkering with the lock. I asked him to leave since he couldn’t open the lock. He insisted I still pay him the customer service fee $29. I called KeyMe again and asked to speak with a supervisor. I asked the supervisor to explain to me why I was expected to pay a locksmith $29 (every time) despite them actually knowing how to the open the door. The supervisor said they spoke with the locksmith and insisted the ONLY option was to blast a role into the lock and door. Then I called Jack’s Key Service. They sent someone out, when the locksmith arrived he opened the door in less than a second! He saw no broken lock, and laughed at the idea of blasting a hole through the lock and buying a new doorknob.

At first i thought keys was a great program. They were quick to responding to me and moved things along. My first case manager and I were not on the same page. She rushed me into an apartment that was infested with roaches and i refused to live there then they changed me workers and put me on a different keys program since now they said i used that option one program. so now i had a new worker i thought everything was great and she gets me in an apartment i really liked i was quick to sign the lease cause mind youi had been homelessfor two years with my small child. Once i was in the apartment the owner has a camera right at my doorway and two in the back none of the other apartments have cameras at their doors. So the owner complaints cause my family came to visit i left gate open by mistake, my child is to loud walking on floor and its bothering the lady down stairs. cant smoke cigarettes within 20 feet of property he has complainted since i moved in. Then come to find out my lease was only 6 months. i just got settled in got a car and a job close to home and now he wont renew my lease and keys cant do anything to help me. i asked why would you even put me in a place for only 6 months that dont make no since to me now my child n i are back in the streets.
